The Devil-Ettes
Want to be a Devil-Ette?

Have you ever dreamt of dancing with the Devil-Ettes? Now’s your chance! They are looking for “4 fabulous go-go girls” to add to their famous kitschy, campy, and absolutely fabulous dance troupe.

Auditions are happening NOW.

“We’re not professional dancers, any cash we make goes back into the group, but we DO love to have fun and shake and shimmy in the spotlight. The Devil-Ettes’ success has been always been a team effort and we’re looking for girls who like to play nice in the sandbox and have a positive and supportive attitude. No divas please! We have weekly rehearsals on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, various Devil-Ette activities (like crafting props and costumes) and, of course, performances! Are you ready to work hard AND have loads of fun?? Then what are you waiting for!?”

Artist-in-residence: May 2015

Drunk Tweets”
Gestalt bar in San Francisco’s Mission District is playing host to a gaggle of my ‘Drunk Tweet’ paintings this month and next. The series started out as tiny sketches with paint on novelty-sized mini canvases.  For this show, however, the sketches are super-sized on 20×20″ canvases. There will be an artist reception next week on Wednesday May 27th 8pm-11pm, so if you’re in the neighborhood please stop in.”

Everyhere Logistics: Exploring America’s Creative Diaspora

Heads up on a very cool cross-country mobile art tour project!

“During the month of August 2015, twelve teams of artists — six starting from New York and six starting from San Francisco — will travel to a new city each weekend to attend the local Lost Horizon Night Markets — an open source creative platform wherein artists create interactive experiences inside box trucks and showcase them in late night guerilla pop-up exhibitions.”

ActionList: A Network Project

Andie Grace (aka ActionGrl) is up to all good. She’s building a list to help people in our community find work. I am 110% behind it (and, really, anything that woman does.)

She writes:
“…I’m creating a list (for my own purposes only, never shared) of friends who freelance, and friends who are seeking work.
Everyone, no matter what your background, is invited to submit. I’m going to turn this into my own little black book of awesome hires I can personally vouch for, so please don’t share this link with people I don’t know yet. (If you’re recommending a friend I’ve never met, please email me first with more information.)
Yes, I mean you, whatever it is that you do. ”

(p.s. I got permission to add the link here for you, awesome readers. Thx, Andie!)

Coyote Goes to Burning Man
Coyote Goes to Burning Man

“Danger Ranger presents an exploration of the historical roots of tricksters, pranksters and surrealistic art at Burning Man. Danger, also known as the ‘Mystic Shaman Cowboy,’ was a leading light of the San Francisco Cacophony Society, who brought Burning Man to the Black Rock Desert in 1990 and established many of its principles.

The spirit of Coyote the Trickster and Teacher is deeply embedded in Burning Culture. Come explore this historical relationship in an afternoon of laughter and inspiration!”
