My own personal Black Rock..

I have been going back and forth on whether I’d go to Burning Man this year. I mean, it IS the 20th anniversary of my first “desert camping trip” after all. Well, this morning I decided once and for all that I will not be going to the playa this year. No drama, I’ve just spent the majority of my summer traveling and I need some time to really absorb all the AWESOME I’ve experienced.

See, since early summer, I’ve been digging into genealogy. You may remember that I traveled to Italy in July and “dropped in” on some Italian cousins. Well, now I am here on Cape Cod –where I was born and raised– and have discovered some family history I didn’t know before. It’s FASCINATING, kind of like reading the best book you’ve ever read, because it’s all about YOU. There are twists and turns and the stories get better as you go along.

And, through DNA research, I have also discovered many “cousins” all over the globe.

Let’s just say, the world is >this< small, and we are not all that different.

Burning Man will be there for me when I need it again. Right now, I have my own personal Black Rock to explore.
