That is all.

January’s Artist-in-Residence: Wolrabbit

Deathmagic by Wolrabbit

This is Wolrabbit’s final week as Artist-in-Residence (Thank you, WR!), so, I interviewed him so we can all get to know him a little better… Enjoy! –Rusty

RBWhere did the name “Wolrabbit” come from?

WRI work under the surname Wolrab sometimes, which many people like to point out is Barlow backwards. I am also really fond of rabbits. So it is either pronounced WOLrabbit or wolrabBIT.

RBWho/what is your spirit animal?

WR: Rabbit. Always has been. That is my role. Predators love me.

RBBest <x> in an <SF neighborhood>, go:

WR: Anywhere in Fisherman’s Wharf! You know why? People are always happy and smiling.

RBDescribe something –so beautiful– that it inspired your own work:
WR: Huh, I’m one of those people who sees the pretty stuff in sad things. Unfortunately when I process those feelings into pictures they come out cute and funny. I can safely say that I’ve spent far more time pondering the rusty fender of a truck on Shotwell St. than I have spent in museums looking at art.
RBHow old is your inner child?
WR: My inner child is bout 103 years old and uses one of those electric Rascal scooters. He’s always early for the earlybird special at We Be Sushi on Valencia Street.
RB: Write your own question…

WRWrite myself a question?

If I may quote Ross Perot’s Running Mate in 1992  Admiral James Bond Stockdale, “Who am I? Why am I here?”
I have no idea, but  if I ever find out you will be the second person to know.

WR: My question for you, Rusty Blazenhoff, is who is your favorite Beatle and why?

RB: Keith Richards, j/k. John Lennon.
