Rusty’s Electric Dreams, an inbox zine from the curious mind of Rusty Blazenhoff
Issue #139 :: The “A little about a lot” Edition :: 06:14:2017

A little about a lot…

Some people know a lot about a little. I know a little about a lot. It used to bug me that I wasn’t one of those kind of people who knew all their life what they were supposed to be when they grew up.

I just figured out that I have known what I want to be when I grow up, but haven’t allowed myself to believe it was possible. Until now.

I’ve been in alt-media since I was 15, starting with my first secret society (“The Banana Mafia”). Later, I got into making print zines. Then, when I was a little older, 24 I believe, I started working on the Black Rock Gazette, the playa’s onsite newspaper at those times.

When I got on the Internet, I made a webzine. It had a “mini-web update” which was my early attempt at an ongoing “blog.” That was late 1995.

Anyway, this is a long-winded way of telling you that I’m blogging for Boing Boing!!

Total bucket list item.

I already I have this story to share with you.

When TV’s Batman Adam West died last week, I remembered discovering a fun prank he played in his local phone book. So, I posted the story on Boing Boing and it did well traffic-wise. So many people in my own Facebook feed shared it! If you were one of them, THANK YOU.

Then, the story was picked up by some Canadian TV channel’s six o’clock news!

How crazy is that?

Real things you can actually buy: slay!

“Inflates to 3 times its original size”: This Klown I know, Jared Hirsch, took his kids to the awesome toy store we have here in Alameda and sent me a photo of the KISS inflatable tongue. He bought one and I went down to the store to snap this shot. Because, c’mon. It’s $19.99 if you gotta have one.
