Teen angel…

I shared this on Facebook the other day with this note: “This is SJ’s school outfit today. I said to her, ‘That’s quite an outfit!’ She smiled and replied, ‘I’m a theater kid, Mom!’

What I didn’t mention is that she’s going to be THIRTEEN on Saturday. Send advice/snacks.

P.S. I’m not crying, you’re crying.

Real books you can actually read: yay!

Enid Blyton for Grown ups

‘Famous Five’ books for grownups: If you’re a fan of British author Enid Blyton’s award-winning adventure books for kids, something tells me you’re going to LOVE this set of books.

Rather than gallivanting around the place; solving mysteries, seeking out bully adventures and drinking lashings of ginger beer – times have changed and the Famous Five are a little bit older now.

Enid Blyton for Grown Ups documents the the illustrious return of Julian, George, Dick, Anne and their dog Timmy as they grapple with the trials and tribulations of the modern world – like pointless strategy away days, going gluten-free and struggling with life on Brexit island.

It’s quintessential British ludicrousness remixed into hilarious hipster vignettes.”

Each title is available for $10.59 each at Firebox or for about $1.81 at Amazon.

To be clear, these are parodies and not written by Ms. Blyton, who died in 1968.

Real things you can actually eat: ew-way

SPAM classic flavor macadamia nuts

Uh, what:  I spotted these in Janelle Hessig’s Instagram feed. I mean, I know both Spam and macadamia nuts are both popular in Hawaii but I can’t fathom combining them!

Spam Classic Flavor Macadamia Nuts are available for $11.75/can on Amazon.
