Issue #035 :: The “Sneakerz” Edition :: 05:27:2015

Sneakerz…Cool news! This issue was co-curated by Lucas Mast, who is REALLY into sneakers.

This is his license plate:

Pop culture comes in many forms, as I learned after getting sucked into the vast rabbit hole of sneakers this week. Thank you, Lucas, for giving me a taste of your obsession and for showing me that sneakers are WAY more than something to wear on your feet. And, thank you to Kirsten for connecting Lucas and I.

I’ve marked Lucas’ contributions to this issue with his initials, “LM.”

If YOU would like to co-curate an issue of Rusty’s Electric Dreams, I’d love to hear your idea!  please email me: rusty@blazenhoff.com.

Artist-in-residence: May 2015

by Josh Ellingson
Drunk Tweets”
Gestalt bar in San Francisco’s Mission District is playing host to a gaggle of my ‘Drunk Tweet’ paintings this month and next. The series started out as tiny sketches with paint on novelty-sized mini canvases.  For this show, however, the sketches are super-sized on 20×20″ canvases. There will be an artist reception next week on Wednesday May 27th 8pm-11pm, so if you’re in the neighborhood please stop in.”
Remember when Pony Chops custom-painted high tops for me? The reverse side has Abraham Lincoln with googly eyes.
