Christmas at the Orphanage

In Ireland, it’s New Year’s Eve tradition for single people to place a sprig of mistletoe, ivy, or holly under their pillow and dream of their future mate.

Also in Irish tradition, if the first visitor to enter your home after midnight on December 31 is a tall, dark handsome man, your new year will be awesome. However, if it’s a redheaded lady, you’re screwed, as she’ll bring you a lot of trouble.

Thanks, Ireland.

“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re doing something.”
— Neil Gaiman
